Quitting the 30 Day Squat Challenge?? 9

I’m a little over 2/3rd my way through the squat challenge and I’m almost up to doing 200+ squats/day. I must say…I am EXHAUSTED.  Shoutouts to the rest days!! I’m finding myself needed more and more sleep as the number of squats/day increases.  I went just shy of a week without eating a proper dinner because I would get home from work, have a snack and immediately pass out (this is awful I know!)

This past Wednesday I got home from work with all the intentions to do some video editing, work on this blog, and catch up on some reading.  I got home from work around 7pm and started preparing for dinner.  For some reason I had to run back to my room, which was not a good decision.

Why was this a bad decision, you ask?

Because the next thing I remember was waking up at 6:30am the next morning.  Seriously!  My food was still sitting out waiting to be prepared; the lights were still on, I was still in the same clothes from the day before… after I do around 200 squats with 35lb weights I feel like I’ve just come off of anesthesia or something!  It’s ridiculous how tired I get!

I have noticed that there is a possibility I’m stretching myself a little thin with the amount of things I try to do in only 24 hours, and I’m finding that exerting so much energy with the squat challenge is making things different.  I’m not superwoman after all!

Does this mean I’m going to quit doing the 30 Day Squat Challenge?

Absolutely NOT!

I’m seeing great results so far!  I can actually see the definition in my thighs; I’m becoming much more tone than I was.  My pants are fitting a little snugger, which is great for me.  For those of you who haven’t read my previous squat challenge posts, I’m doing the 30 day squat challenge in hopes to become toned and gain a little muscle mass.  I’m a little too old to have chicken legs!  I’m only really seeing a difference in my thighs, haven’t seen any change in my backside, but to be completely honest, I’m finding that’s not really a big deal for me.

One other thing I realized I haven’t been doing and I definitely should be along with this squat challenge is STRETCHING!  If you’ve ever played a sport I’m sure you know the importance of stretching before and after a workout.  I’ve got a little over a week left and I’m just now taking the importance of stretching into consideration.   If you’re doing any type of workout routine make sure you take time to stretch before and after!  It’ll really benefit circulation among other things.

How’s your squat challenge progress coming?

  • Ok, so you ask how my squats are coming? They’re not. Cause I’m not doing them lol. However, you (and Kara) have inspired me to start. Maybe in May? I am totally interested in having a ba-donk-a-donk this summer. Are you sure you haven’t noticed a change in that backside? Because I need a witness before I start killing my po’ lil’ legs. But on a serious note, I’m proud of you. However, don’t get tooo toned because you’re my only hope of being able to tell people “yea, I have a friend and she’s a model” lol
